Teen Center Opens

Project Imo is thrilled to announce the grand opening of its inaugural teen center, located at 924 Riverside Drive in downtown Willimantic, CT. This dedicated space is set to become a vibrant hub for local youth aged 14-18, offering an array of programs and opportunities to foster growth, leadership, and community engagement.

Key Highlights:

  1. Purpose and Vision:

    • The teen center will provide a safe, positive, and welcoming environment for young people, encouraging them to take on new challenges and shape their futures.

    • It will serve as a venue for afterschool activities, youth leadership programs, and various community events.

  2. Name and Inspiration:

    • Affectionately referred to as “Base Camp,” the center holds a special place in the hearts of those involved.

    • It will serve as a cornerstone for Project Imo’s innovative initiatives, including the Youth Promise Career Pathways Initiative and individualized mentoring programs.

  3. Opening Date:

    • Project Imo is excited to announce that afterschool programs and open hours for teens are scheduled to begin in September 2023.

New Base Camp

Project Imo has officially opened the doors on a new office and programming space in Willimantic, CT!
This was in anticipation of an amazing youth workforce development contract as well as a natural part of our evolution as an organization. In January, our Board of Directors approved a 5-year strategic plan to open a full youth and community center in town in 2028. This new office is a huge step toward that ambitious goal. We’ll be at 924 Riverside Drive (744r Main Street) in Willimantic.
