New Base Camp
Project Imo has officially opened the doors on a new office and programming space in Willimantic, CT!
This was in anticipation of an amazing youth workforce development contract as well as a natural part of our evolution as an organization. In January, our Board of Directors approved a 5-year strategic plan to open a full youth and community center in town in 2028. This new office is a huge step toward that ambitious goal and establishes our new base camp.
We’ll be at 924 Riverside Drive (744r Main Street) in Willimantic.
Why Base Camp
At Base camp, every visitor embarks on a unique path, empowered to forge skills and create lasting relationships that support their personal and professional growth.
- Connect with peers
- Access resources
- Develop skills
- Act as a catalyst for their future journeys
Base Camp serves as a dynamic hub for youth, inspired by the traditional base camps that provided explorers with supplies, shelter, communications, and a place to connect.
Thank You
Our new landlords are amazing folks, the owners of Trigo Pizza (so… amazing pie upstairs).
Thank you to the team of folks who stepped in and helped paint / clean / light refurbishments!
Tons of things on the horizons for Project Imo and this is one step closer to our goals. It is also good to note we’ve also been onboarding per diem facilitator staff pretty regularly. If you know anyone who’d like to potentially pick up per diem adventure facilitation work, send them our way!
Super-duper excited!!
