Outdoor trail environmental impact program youth promise project imo conservation event date

Event Description

Youth Promise Environmental Impact Program Empowering Young Changemakers through a multi-day, transformative experience designed specifically for youth ages 14–21 who are passionate about making a positive difference in the world. This unique program provides an immersive opportunity to explore the intersections of environmental stewardship, leadership development, and social impact through a blend of education, action, and creativity.

Participants engage deeply with topics that matter, from climate justice and community resilience to conservation, biodiversity, and sustainability. Each program day is carefully crafted to provide hands-on learning, outdoor exploration, field research, and creative projects, all designed to challenge young people to think critically, collaborate effectively, and develop practical solutions for real-world environmental challenges.

More than just learning about environmental issues, this program empowers youth to take action. Whether through local community projects, environmental storytelling, or leadership skill-building, participants leave the program with the tools, confidence, and passion to become change agents in their own communities and beyond.

By combining direct action, meaningful community engagement, and personal growth opportunities, the Environmental Impact Program equips the next generation of environmental leaders with the knowledge, experience, and mindset to make a difference today and shape a more sustainable tomorrow.

Environmental Impact Program Topics Explored:

  • Environmental Justice & Equity

  • Climate Change & Community Resilience

  • Conservation & Biodiversity

  • Sustainable Living Practices

  • Environmental Art & Storytelling

This impactful program is made possible thanks to the generous support of the Community Foundation of Eastern Connecticut, with additional partnership contributions from Joshua’s Trust and NAFI. Together, these organizations help ensure that youth in our region have access to meaningful environmental education and leadership opportunities.
