Tower Hill Hike A Joshua's Trust Partnership Event at the preserve you can see a very subtle rock face with water falling down it

Event Description

Tower Hill Hike: A Joshua’s Trust Partnership Event

Join us for a guided hike at Tower Hill Preserve, a beautiful property protected by Joshua’s Trust. This special partnership event invites our community to explore one of the area’s treasured natural spaces together. The hike is designed to be approachable, social, and educational, offering a chance to connect with both the land and with fellow participants who share an interest in nature and conservation.

Tower Hill Preserve

Tower Hill is known for its forested trails, rich wildlife, and the sense of peace it provides to visitors. Protected by Joshua’s Trust, the preserve represents an important commitment to land stewardship and habitat conservation. By walking its trails together, we not only enjoy its beauty but also learn more about the importance of preserving natural areas for future generations. Every step is a reminder of the role local conservation plays in keeping our ecosystems healthy and accessible.

What you will do

This is a two-hour guided hike that will move at a steady but gentle pace. Along the way, we will pause at points of interest to talk about the history of the preserve, the plants and animals that call it home, and the role of Joshua’s Trust in safeguarding open spaces across the region. Our guide Deb will capture the full essence of the trails by showcasing features that are easy to miss on a casual walk, from signs of animal activity to the small shifts in habitat as we move through different parts of the trail.

What to bring

  • Proper footwear suitable for uneven terrain.
  • Water and a light snack.
  • Layers appropriate for morning temperatures.
  • A sense of curiosity and readiness for light physical activity.

The setting

Tower Hill offers a mix of forest cover and open areas with scenic views. The trail winds through terrain that is moderately easy, with some gentle inclines. The hike is intended to be accessible for most participants while still giving a sense of adventure. The pace will allow for conversation, observation, and time to pause for photos or simply to take in the surroundings.

Who should join

This program is a good fit for adults, families, and older children who enjoy spending time outdoors. You do not need hiking experience beyond basic comfort with walking for two hours on uneven ground. If you are interested in nature, conservation, or simply being part of a community event, this hike will offer a rewarding experience.

What you will take away

  • A deeper appreciation for Tower Hill Preserve and the work of Joshua’s Trust.
  • Knowledge of local plants, animals, and ecosystems you can notice on future walks.
  • The benefits of gentle outdoor exercise in a peaceful natural setting.
  • A sense of connection with others who care about conservation and community.

Tower Hill Hike is both a celebration of partnership and an invitation to connect more deeply with our natural surroundings. Come ready to walk, learn, and enjoy time in a place that reflects the best of what local conservation makes possible.
