Project Imo has built our eko-STEAM model of learning into engaging virtual lessons using the Outschool platform. Outschool is the largest marketplace for live online classes for kids! This platform connects learners from all over the world to each other and eko-STEAM learning.
Facilitators from team Imo build our content with the virtual learner in mind. We use a variety of formal learning methods, fun crafts, technology supports, and creative storytelling. When learners register for our Outschool classes, they receive access to the required downloadable content, a virtual and private classroom space, and our skilled instructors as outlined in the class description. We also have our content for download here to make access easy.
The heart of our nature learning content.
Nature and tech combine in a creative surge.
Give customers a reason to do business with you.
We've adapted our outdoor eko-STEAM into a virtual environment. Instead of building shelters from logs, tarps and debris, we're building them from craft supplies and even food!
We've partnered with our friends at StoneAgeMan and UntamedScience to incorporate immersive, expert content that helps connect to nature learning. Rob Nelson is an Emmy Award winning tv host, filmmaker and biologist who is also just an awesome educator! Be sure to check out his survival courses, world biomes site, and science videos to see more of Rob's work.
These classes don't need to be taken in order but they do represent a progression of concepts. You can see our current offerings and upcoming class sessions at the link below!
In our eko-STEAM Animals and Adaptations program, learners will spend time exploring animal species and gaining an understanding of adaptive traits and behaviors that help animals survive in their local ecosystems.
We’ll spend time exploring the wonders of the last ice age, ending only about 11,700 years ago. Our voyage spans climate and geography of our past. Glaciation, massive mammals, human ingenuity and expression will be at our fingertips.
How did early humans live? How did we survive in the elements? Adaptations, shelter construction, crafts, and even marshmallows will help us explore our history as humans across the millennia!
These are the workbooks and other learning supports you'll need to launch into eko-STEAM: Core Curriculum Lesson through Outschool. These are also provided through the Outschool platform when you register for a class.
Science, technology, engineering, and math. STEM. These are critical competencies for the emerging age. STEAM includes Art as a key discipline to bring them all together. Art is skill, technique, and creation. Sparking that passion for creative exploration through applied STEM learning is EXACTLY what our Creative Worlds program is all about.
We'll journey into creative fantastic worlds through the World's Most Popular Role-Playing Game as we play, build worlds, and work together to explore the possible!
eko-STEAM: World Builders- Science and Art and DnD (AVAILABLE NOW!)
In this ongoing workshop, we'll collectively build our own part of the Fallen Twins world; it's a canvas waiting for your creative mind. Starting with the basics of Dungeons Crawling with Dragons, we'll move into creating a land using science and art and then adding in the fantastic!
These four-part workshops will have our learner/creators build a lasting part of Project Imo's Fallen Twins universe that will forever become part of our open source universe. This encourages creativity, science, collaboration, and the pride of being part of a broad community of connected geniuses! Each workshop "cohort" will create a new part of the Fallen Twins universe that builds into a cumulative effort of gargantuan proportions over the years!!!
These one-off workshops or ongoing campaigns are where our creative learners play characters in the Fallen Twins Universe. They'll be faced with complicated social and cognitive problems that can only be solved with a little daring-do and critical thinking. Communities build as adventure abounds in Fallen Twins. Come join the adventure!
These are the workbooks and other learning supports you'll need to launch into eko-STEAM: Creative Worlds workshops. These are also provided through the Outschool platform when you register for a class.
One of our core values is engaged stewardship. Protection of the natural world. We love getting outside and getting our hands dirty as we explore our world and our inner strength. But connecting people to the natural world doesn't always involve a grand expedition into the wilderness. Technology is a brilliant bridge into the world outside.
Our virtual programming helps connect young learners to the natural world through digital exploration of how we interface with the wild. We provide foundational skills in a safe, online environment that can help them when they take those big steps into the world outside!
In this workshop, we'll learn the basics of stop motion animation through our smart devices. Learners can use Legos, action figures, dolls, toy critters, rocks, food, paper, drawings, well... pretty much anything (except real animals, they don't pose well for stop motion). We'll cover the basics of the creative style, the Stop Motion Studio app, some elements of lighting, and the craft of simple storytelling. This is geared for beginners. All they'll need is a smart device with the full Stop Motion Studio app installed, a creative mind, and some objects of their choice to animate.
