DESCRIPTION:EXCITING NEWS\, WE’RE MOVING!\nProject Imo’s Base Camp and Idea Forge Creators Space will be temporarily closed while we move to a larger facility in downtown Willimantic\, CT.\nWe are thrilled to be moving to 54 North St\, Willimantic\, CT\, 06226 and sharing an exciting new space with our partners at NAFI CT.\nDuring our move\, our Idea Forge Creators Space and general open programming will be closed to relocate. Idea Forge members will have limited access to certain workstations. If you have a specific project you’re working on\, let us know and we’ll arrange to make the move as minimally disruptive as possible. Your membership will be extended for 2 weeks to accommodate the interruption.\nSpecial programs such as the Windham Prevention Coalition Youth Leadership Council Summit on Monday\, August 25th will continue as planned at our Base Camp facility and the space at our amazing partners\, The River Room.\nTo learn more\, email teamimo@projectimo.org or call 860-786-5799.

SUMMARY:WPC Youth Leadership Council- Leadership Summit - August 2025
DESCRIPTION:Join the Youth Leadership Council for a dynamic one-day Youth Leadership Summit on Monday\, August 25\, 2025\, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Open to area youth ages 13–18 and any member of the Windham Prevention Coalition Youth Leadership Council\, this summit brings together emerging leaders for an engaging experience packed with team building\, outdoor challenges\, and real-world leadership practice. Designed specifically for members of the Youth Leadership Council\, the event will empower participants through youth-led problem-solving dialogues\, high-energy group activities\, and skill-building sessions that inspire confidence and community action. \nHosted at Project Imo’s Base Camp in Willimantic\, the summit begins each morning with check-in and group activities before heading out for weather-permitting outdoor initiatives. Rain or shine\, we’ll be in action—though hazardous weather will result in cancellation. Lunch is included and participants should come dressed to move\, think\, and lead. \nQuick Details: \n\nDates: Monday\, August 25\, 2025\nTime: 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM each day\nLocation: Base Camp\, Willimantic\, CT\nLunch provided both days.\nSeats are limited so register early. \nPriority is given to members of the YLC.\nOutdoor activities (weather permitting)\, short walk from Base Camp.\nActivities include:\n\nTeam-building initiatives\nYouth-led leadership challenges\nCommunication & problem-solving games\nStrategy-building workshops\nReflective group dialogues\n\n\n\n  \nParents with youth not currently members of Project Imo’s Base Camp Teen Center will need to sign program release forms which will be sent out after accepted registration.
